With the warmer weather just round the corner I just wanted to give some tips on choosing sun cream.
If possible look for a suncream that has both UVA and UVB protection.
The SPF gives a protection against UVB (the rays that make you burn) so the higher SPF, the greater the protection. Ideally aim for an SPF of 30 or more.
The star rating on the back of the bottle measures the protection against UVA (the ones that can cause long-term ageing). In the UK this rating will go up to 5 stars, the higher the star rating, the better. Ideally aim for a star rating of four stars or more.
Have fun in the sun but stay safe and remember to reapply suncream throughout the day. All we need now is the sun and the warmer weather.....
