If I won this competition, I’d be gifting the prize to my sister. She’s 38 and due to a medical condition, several years ago she began the menopause. Because of her age, her peers can’t relate to her and she feels alone and despite her strong and proud demeanour, she’s certainly afraid. Being gay, I’m naturally close to my sisters and therefore she opens up to me. Though I can’t relate, I can sympathise and support her. I hope reading this book could give her the push she needs to begin HRT, seek mental health support and destigmatise the social stigma around menopause.
